Reserve Spätburgunder

1 Year in barrel, 1/2/3 time use of barrels. Makes their own barrels. He has 2 brothers and each one has his own winery. Nose is slightly oaky, but gorgeous spices, gorgeous deep cherry fruit. The spices are xmas spices. Really aromatic. very fresh and tons of energy and lovely red cherries. Very complex and pure and finishes mineral, earthy and dusty. Swiss oak is only used. Charcoal. Wood shaving. Very fine and refined and tiny berry fruit intensity. Great inner mouth perfume. Awesome concentration. Fantastic and the 21 has so much energy and freshness.

Gorgeous nose of red cherry fruit, lightly toasted oak, huge minerals but also somewhat muted. Will be back for more aromas as it opens.

What a palate. So silky, slippery and elegant with stunning fruit and gorgeous purity and freshness. Fruit is in the elegant cherry camp but cuts a swath on the palate. Wow what energy and lift and such high quality tannins. This is so so good. What a long finish. Awesome. Sure this will open and I’ll be back as the structure is starting to come alive

Oh man, love this. Happy Friday! Beautiful Swiss red. Fragrant sweet red rose bouquet on the nose with some alc. Juicy fresh berries on the darker side, earthy and spiced. Red licorice and vanilla. Terrific length and balance. Gentle acidity. Feels light and so smooth - would never guess it’s 14.9% abv. I should have bought more than 2 bottles @Lyle Fass
