Ölberg Riesling

This GG VDP from Reinhessen is yellow-greenish in color; and has a nose of fudge, beeswax, honey, lime, grape fruit, petrol and wet underbrush - marvelous -; and a taste fueled by high acids and tart tropical fruits, lean and smooth structure and a perceived sweetness and long finish. Wish I had more but were sold out.

Clean and pure. Drinking so well. No formal notes.

Petrol, grapefruit

Bone dry with very long finish. Slate, salt, Meyer lemons. Great Summer drink.

Gout de petrol, grapefruit and Meyer lemons, bone dry.

Nose has sponti, lemon curd, Meyer lemon, lime zest, tangerine, minerals, confectionary. Very aromatic and open nose. Hint of nougat as well. Mango. So good. Really impressive. Palate is tense, mineral and elegant. Nice citrus in the finish. Nimble, complex and long. Juicy and concentrated and finished dry and structured. Long finish. Lovey mid palate and such intense minerality. Terrific. So complete. Best Schatzel I’ve ever had.

Had a whole note and it’s gone. Arghhhh.

Unreal nose. So complex and generous. Pink grapefruit, citrus, cream, confectionary aromas, mineral and round also with a hint of steeliness. So good. Complex and powerful with such astonishing purity and grace. Big tangerine and other exotic citrus fruits. Chewy and yet so light and ethereal. Terrific concentration and a wonderful texture and such a penetrating and pure finish. So juicy and young. This will only improve but man what a drink today.

Gorgeous nose. Mineral, even creamy, citrusy, tangelo, delicious and unique. Pithy flesh of stone fruits. Complex as fuck. Mineral. So refined and pretty. Very pure. Long dissipating finish.

Nose - white flowers. Grapefruit peel. Gorgeous smoke.

Palate: sweet lemon. Mineral.
