Feb 29th, 2024Nose has aged character of deep woodsy soil tones, dead leaves, spice and a hint of framing oak. Tree bark, flaming embers, dark cherry, brooding and layered. Palate is gorgeous. Juicy and complex with a firm mineral spine but gets more plush after 45 minutes. 08 is a firm vintage as it is but I still love this wine in this vintage. It’s firm yet focused and so fresh and energetic.

Tightly wound still, but very precise sweet cherries and flowers lead on the nose, which is rounded out with a rich tomato/balsamic umami on the back end.
