More of an impression than a formal tasting tonight, as this was with very spicy Indian food and not exactly ideal glassware, but the wine showed beautifully. Creamy, opulent and rich, with the luxuriousness of 2023 very much on display, yet still held together by excellent acidity and freshness. The acid felt a little softer than on my previous bottles, but the balance remained terrific. An absolutely killer foil for green chilies, lamb and heat, with enough sweetness, texture and energy to reset the palate over and over. I’ll revisit the last bit tomorrow for a more focused read.

Oct 10th, 2025Nose starts out so quiet. Some light peach and minerality. Now it’s opening and we are getting some nice peach juice, vulcanized rubber, minerals and some confectionary notes. A deep honey note now and also some intense minerals. Smells round. Smells so pure and so fresh. Wow great acids and freshness. Man this is awesome! Impossibly complex and so much honey, peach, lime and driving mineral force. Unreal intensity and a step above the other two Piesport Kabi’s in 2023. The finish is so so salty and endless. This is super elite. Unreal complexity and intensity and what a finish that never ends. This also has excessive crushed rock minerality. Wow. Insane!!!

Nose is subdued at first, but then opens to a range of lemon, lime, white flowers, rock dust. Palate a wonderful vibrant lemon and lime; lots of slate minerality; the acid is quite unique. Very present, and almost has a tannin like quality. I think once the acid integrates over the years it will be something even more special. A great value.
