Dusty, slightly darker cherry, a hint of plum, nice undergrowth. A bit of tree bark. Darker. Powerful on the palate with strong tannins, zippy acidity. Currently finishes off a bit dry, needs a lot of time!

Lovely German Spätburgunder which, if tasted blind, could easily be mistaken for Burgundy. With 19 years of age it’s starting to display some tertiary/umami notes, but still fresh and vibrant. Forest floor, black cherries, a little tobacco. Lovely.
