Well, this was a peculiar one - but such is baby Riesling! Drunk over three nights, the first two presented very closed and unpleasantly medicinal on the nose, with the palate a bit one-dimensional too. By the third, with little more than a small glass left in the bottle, the medicinal quality had blown off to reveal more classical aromas which still required a great deal of coaxing from the glass. The palate had also opened up, offering up flavours of perfectly ripe apple, fresh lime and a hint of blueberry, with Spätlese-like weight and concentration. I think in time this could be an excellent wine, though it’s a little embryonic and hard to enjoy now.

Vintage 2009 / impeccable balance with great acidity, even now I think it is too young. But hey, it gives enormous joy. Razorsharp, spicy smell, butterscotch. Saar wine from riesling with... only 8 procent alcohol. Very vibrant.

A wine you just want to drink. Ripe fruit salad through the roof on the nose & palate. Never missing the typical salty component on the back end. Again a very ripe, round acidity.

Vintage 2009 - this wine is now coming into perfect shape, with tones of marsepan, butter, citrus and minerals. Nice complex nose also with pear and melon. Great balance in taste, this is really worth waiting for!
