Nose is very complex and low-toned. Fire embers, warm animal blood, sweet spices, the oozie stuff at the bottom of a cardboard carton of blackberries. Savory in the mouth, with a drying finish that requires food and is not quite as friendly as the nose suggests.

Seductive Syrah from Waters, always a treat. Dark fruit with some black pepper, balanced. Great introduction level from Waters.

2011. Cassis liqueur "monin", smoky, coffee, fruit but no sugar, barnyard. Body, purple rim. Easy to drink.
