Second white wine on the wine drive at Waterford. Light greenish yellow. A little creamy on the nose with notes of apples and citrus fruits. Richer than the last. Solid acidity on the palate (6.5/10) and medium to medium plus body. Fresh palate with apples and citrus fruits. A touch creamy mouthfeel in the palate. Long finish. Drink till 2022.

Aged for 9 months in 24% new French oak barrels and 3,250 cases produced.

First wine we tasted at the Reserve Tasting with Justin at Waterford. Medium golden yellow. Creamy nose with notes of butter, biscuits and apple pie. Medium acidity (6.5/10) and medium bodied. A touch tangy on the palate with notes of citrus fruits and green apples. Medium plus to long finish. Very interesting to see how these white wines age in South Africa. Drink till 2020.

Made up of 100% Chardonnay from 29 year old vines on a single vineyard on the estate. Aged for 12 months in 60% French oak barrels and 1,281 cases produced.

Very Burgundian with great balance, some nice matchstick reduction and quite some depth with. Old vines on granite & clay, with restrained use of oak. Juicy, fresh, a bit fruitier than a real Burgundy (ripe melon, green papaya but also green apples).
Surprisingly delightful!

Good glass of developed Chardonnay with butter and wood.
The wood is dominant in the nose and luckily not in the mouth.

A perfect, gentle balance of oak and butter with crisp minerality.
