Arlyn Vineyard Gamay Noir

If I was tasting blind, I would’ve said RRV Pinot. Aromas of cola, red fruit and cloves. Those aromas transferred to my palate where they were met by a healthy dose of acid. An extended finish. Despite a reasonable 13.5% alcohol, at about 3 hours it stared to make its presence known.

Lightly extracted purple red. Cherry and graphite aromas. Light cherry berry flavor, later tutti frutti, light seed tannin and cherry finish. The perfect understated Thanksgiving wine

Arlyn Vineyard Chehalem Mountains Willamette Valley Gamay Noir. Medium extracted purple-red, very good clarity. Graphite floral and blackberry notes in nose. Blackberry flavor with length.. Good slightly bitter tannic backbone, moderate acidity, lactic finish. Aging potential. First release of this varietal by this producer, 120 cases made, almost sold out

Sep 1st, 2018Wanted to try one of my 3 bottles of 2018. I know it’s too young and it shows but it’s still great. Nose: twizzlers, ripe fresh cut berries, hint of licorice. This is distinctly gamay and there’s a bit of that cola thing you find in Cali Pinot but it’s tart and savory and clearly gamay. Good stuff. Will drink the next two in a couple years.
