M Yecla Old Vine Monastrell

Great expression of this varietal. Deep Purple with great blend of herb and fruit. Some tea notes on the nose.

Gingerbread nose, subtle but obvious. On the palate a little leather, some earthy tones, very tannic and jammy.

Good dark spicy wine. Dark fruits long finish

Lovely dark oak flavors. Prunes and blackberry.

Classic #yecla #monastrell character. Black fruits, spice, tea. Good tannic structure.

Picked this wine up at Central Market on the recommendation of the wine guy. Great with cheese. Dense, long finish with medium tannins. Great wine for the price $13.99.

Super inky dark 100% Monastrell that's loaded with red berries, floral undertones and bucket of spices. Finishes nicely. I would best serve with spicy Mexican or fra diavlo Italian.

Tasted after eating citrus fruit, but the nose was very nice. Will have to try again.
