Delicious. Acidity just tingling enough to stop the whole thing becoming too cloying & rich. 808 cowbell cuts through. Showing pretty heavy oxidative notes, but it's all working here. I've opened many bottles of this that have tasted like cheap calvados sludge, it's a miracle this wasn't.

The colour scared me, just a little (for a 2011 Chardonnay) but on the palate and nose, this is a blockbuster wine. Oxidative toffee apple, caramel and cider dominates and intrigues, but there is purity and focus in abundance - not a single hint of muddiness that undermines many natural wine experiments. Heavenly with strong cheese.
