2003 vintage. Walnuts, candied orange peel , dark chocolate and caramel. Sweet, but with tight balancing acidity. Complexity, balance and impressive walnuty length.

Just too young compared to the 1989 though both were Conteiro made and the same grape. Here we had a primary walnut note with brighter sweet yellow fruits. Good but more air and at be bottle age is warranted.

Stepping out on a limb. Golden color. Acidity enhances and cuts the slightly sweetness. A pure moment for reflection of raisins and ripe oranges. I can imagine sailing from Portugal to Panama while I enjoyed this excellent Madeira. Tropical!

Medium amber colour. Fully developed and very expressive nose displaying aromas of toasted almonds, brown sugar, coffee, peanuts, honey, orange peel and dry figs. Lots of complexity there!

In the mouth it is sweet but not cloying, with a high zesty and refreshing acidity. It is warm with a medium+ body and a wealth of concentration. It ends with a lingering and complex finish.

Just delicious.

Stewed orange peel and caramel - beautiful balance of slight sweetness and acid.
