Vincent Girardin
Les Vieilles Vignes Mâcon-Fuissé Chardonnay
Vincent Girardin continues the winemaking tradition of his father and grandfather before him, and expanded the appellations in his domaine either through inheritance, purchase, or a system of leasing called "fermage." Aromas of stone fruits with citrus notes. On the palate apple and pear flavors with citrus flavors, a bit creamy. Medium finish ending with a citrus mineral character.

Dec 31st, 2018Something for a creamy salad. One of my favorite value producers and beyond. Produced in all stainless with perhaps a touch of neutral wood. Nothing to bite back on palate. Green apple, lemon, lime, pineapple, guava, passion fruit, honeysuckle, fine, gritty minerals, fine chalkiness, beautiful acidity and round, rich polished finish.

Fair amount of new oak for this region. Very round mouthfeel with lots of chalky minerality

Feb 19th, 2014Girardin strikes again with a surprisingly good regional level chard that is well made and a solid 'house' wine for $25

Aug 16th, 2013Very nice acidity with a slightly buttery, okay finish. Opened up nicely with the fruit coming forward. Enjoyed it with lobster, great food wine that can hold up.
