Vincent Dauvissat
Montée de Tonnerre Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay
Brunch! The rare Dauvissat MDT! 17’s are rocking. And this was amazing with some Kushi oysters.

Nov 20th, 2023Showing just as well as the bottle some weeks back. The first vintage of Dauvissat’s MDT, with just 2 barrels made and hardly any came to the US. It sits in a great place, super giving and ready to drink. It’s seamlessly balanced and finely detailed showing a complex array of yellow fruit, lilies, wildflower honey and hazelnut with lemony acids and a stony minerality. It fills out with air and continues to gain volume and focus. Great bottle.

Dec 19th, 2021MDT side by side I’ve always wanted to do! 😍
Vincent Dauvissat “Montée de Tonnerre” 2013- The first vintage of Dauvissat’s MDT, with just 2 barrels made and incredibly minuscule amounts making its way overseas. It’s super giving, seamlessly balanced and finely detailed showing a complex array of yellow fruit, lilies, wildflower honey and hazelnut with lemony acids and a stony minerality. It continued to gain volume and focus with air. A true competitor to Raveneau’s 2013 MDT, if not the wine I actually found myself ultimately savoring. It’s just in a great place and very ready to drink.

Sadly flawed. Cork soaked all through under the wax and it seemed oxidized. What was left was dominated by oak and flat.

Jan 1st, 2022A rare discovery- the first vintage of Dauvissat’s new vineyard. This was consumed in plastic cups during a concert but it showed as well as a young 1er could under the circumstances. I was impressed and would love to compare with his other bottlings.
