The best vintage for Dauvissat since 2014 imo, 2020 MDT, the rarest parcel from the Domaine is impeccable in this vintage, floral, satiny and concentrated with layered richness and Chablisen minerality, it keeps gaining in weight in the decanter building throughout the night. It’s pure, textural and expansive and most of all complete even in its early stages. The best MDT Dauvissat has made thus far, just its 7th vintage for the vineyard. Yellow wax bottlings for whatever reason, even if the difference is merely filtration, always show better than foil.

Brunch! The rare Dauvissat MDT! 17’s are rocking. And this was amazing with some Kushi oysters.

Showing just as well as the bottle some weeks back. The first vintage of Dauvissat’s MDT, with just 2 barrels made and hardly any came to the US. It sits in a great place, super giving and ready to drink. It’s seamlessly balanced and finely detailed showing a complex array of yellow fruit, lilies, wildflower honey and hazelnut with lemony acids and a stony minerality. It fills out with air and continues to gain volume and focus. Great bottle.

MDT side by side I’ve always wanted to do! 😍

Vincent Dauvissat “Montée de Tonnerre” 2013- The first vintage of Dauvissat’s MDT, with just 2 barrels made and incredibly minuscule amounts making its way overseas. It’s super giving, seamlessly balanced and finely detailed showing a complex array of yellow fruit, lilies, wildflower honey and hazelnut with lemony acids and a stony minerality. It continued to gain volume and focus with air. A true competitor to Raveneau’s 2013 MDT, if not the wine I actually found myself ultimately savoring. It’s just in a great place and very ready to drink.

Sadly flawed. Cork soaked all through under the wax and it seemed oxidized. What was left was dominated by oak and flat.

A rare discovery- the first vintage of Dauvissat’s new vineyard. This was consumed in plastic cups during a concert but it showed as well as a young 1er could under the circumstances. I was impressed and would love to compare with his other bottlings.
