Gold with a slight green tinge. The aroma was complex straight out of the gate and continued to build in the glass. Notes of honeysuckle, mandarin, creme brûlée, freshly churned butter, lemon, liquorice root and orange rind. It showed massive richness in the mouth with a certain fresh acidity at the very end. Fruits were lightly honeyed but fresh and vibrant and underneath all of the flesh was a cool bed of river rocks. Long pleasant finish. Had it along with some seared scallops, groundbreaking.
