This golden-tinted single-vineyard wine is an Albariño with a little meat on its bones. The grape is sometimes a little too pretty for my taste, but this Nora bottling hits me just right. The nose has a little floral aspect, but it is almost wiped out by citrus, savory and wet sidewalk minerality. The palate brings loads of lemon, apple and apricot and a wonderful salinity that came as a surprise. The acidity is certainly serviceable, if not razor-sharp, and the finish is long, creamy and savory.

Facing a natural terrace above the river Miño, located in the town of As Neves, within the wine region of Condado do Tea, bordering Portugal. Pale yellow with pronounced fruit and floral aromas. On the palate white flesh fruit flavors, citrus and herb notes with lively acidity and nice balance of minerality. Crisp on the finish ending with lemon zest notes. Nice!

My last Wednesday Wine Committee to attend this year. Quite the lesson in Spanish wines! As always, all wines are tasted blind.

The nose on this smelled of so much orange blossom and marmalade, that I was convinced the finish would be a sweet Muscat. Unfortunately, the finish was very short and not sweet at all. I was a bit stumped.

Classic example, to me. Saline, yeast, and citrus with medium plus acid.

Mineral-driven citrus and orchard fruit aromas are complicated by suggestions of white flowers, ginger and oyster shell in this sappy Albariño from Spain’s Rias Baixas. (JR)

The winery is situated in an elevated position displaying panoramic views of the Miño river estuary as it's vines descends downhill towards the river and the Atlantic. Was able to taste 2014 & 2015. First the 2014. Straw yellow with fruit and floral aromas. On the palate ripe apple and peach flavors with herb notes. Vivid acidity with a nice mouthfeel. The finish is medium and ends with a touch of minerality.
