Rioja tasting 6/21/23!!

Almost extinct varietal. Unusual mix of tastes. Very nice.

Bold, chewy wine perfect for pairing with Spanish tapas. It has a full mouthfeel and tannins are strong. Fruit character reminiscent of dark cherry and wild berries. Deep-colored with an earthy finish.

One of the only wineries working with this varietal: naturals Blanca
To the nose: has a similar complexity to Sauvignon blanc. Lots of pineapples and citrus. Light stone fruits. Like slightly unripe nectarines.

Rioja white. But from a grape varietal that became extinct. It's a white rhino and a unicorn of a wine. It's got this longer finish. Beautiful acid, fleshy body nice like a Chenin blanc.

Crisp and clean

Stony taste with lots of minerality. Citrus flavor. Literally the only maturana Blanca in the world, grown on two hectares owned by ljalba. A very obscure wine you can geek out on!
