Vina Bujanda
Reserva Rioja Tempranillo
Not sure if reviews of the Crianza got mixed in here, but this is the Riserva from a great Rioja vintage & is a solidly medium bodied wine. The nose alone is worth the cheap price of admission: ripe cherries, leather, all the classic barrel aged notes of dill & vanilla. Very very fresh though on the palate. Those ripe cherries, dark chocolate notes pick up intensity. For a rich wine ( which is not to my taste) & producer I never tried I was impressed

So much dill and coconut! Backed by sweet cherry, leather, and burning tobacco.

Nov 26th, 2017Leather, tobacco, dill and dark chocolate. I'm a fan.

Jul 20th, 2015Probably overrating out of pleasant surprise, but love the clean, bright 100% temprannillo, and integrated overall experience. Trying with dinner, so not likely to identify the dill and leather others mentioned (whatever it is goes great with quesadillas). It reads like a soft negroni, which I consider high praise.

Nov 14th, 2020Not much of a nose. Some dill, herbs, and clay- very little fruit, although a bit tart.
