I have been sworn to a vow of secrecy over this vineyard. From what I understand James Berry outsources some of his amazing grapes in Paso Robles. Villa Creek takes those grapes and make some incredible Rhone style blends (Syrah, Mourvèdre, Grenache). This is my first Avenger, but will not be my last. The 60% Syrah is a red wine drinkers dream, while the 10% Grenache gives it a dash of pepper flavor. An orchestrated dance with your taste buds. But, only 400 cases made, so if interested, you will likely have to become a member of their wine club ... There's the rub. $45, but worth every sip. Cheers!
