Smooth blend though a bit more tart than expected. Needs to breathe a bit for the flavors to open up.

This wine exhibits a high toned fruity Zinfandel nose. The attack is of sweet fruit without a lot of acid and some very very fine tannins hanging around behind the very plummy fruit. After the fruit is finished the tannins keep on creeping in and building and building. The end result is a fairly tannic wine.

Label has law badge and critter label style in one. Like the deep purple color. It matches the deep purple wine. Also says “sustainably farmed”. Cool. Smells like blackberry patch in the sun and masking tape. Flavors are on the fruit bombed side of things. Dense berry flavors. Hint of oak. (Vanilla and pumpkin pie spice). There is a hint of molasses too. Maybe licorice too. Panda licorice. The red one. It’s just a bit too CA ripe for balance though. Think the Shannon Family Petite Sirah is cut from similar cloth. Low investment of under $6 at Grocery Outlet though.

Some fruit on the nose, but it is not overpowering on the palate. Very drinkable. Something is distinctly savory on the back of the tongues. Peppery finish. Medium body. Yummy.
