Aromatically lifted, elegant tannins, moderately framed with life and detail remaining. Not a vintage where the typical VCC richness shows, but the tannin profile is true to domaine. Spicebox, leather, tobacco, plumcake, earth and cigar smoke.

Wow, this wine was fantastic. A wonderful Pomerol with age, full lush fruit and notes of saddle leather and deep red and black fruits.

Dark rubi robe, nose of blackcurrant and flowers. Very elegant and complex wine that has the style of the 80s, fruit was probably harvested on the early side. No excess of wood or alcohol, ready to drink but no rush. We like it a great deal.

Initially this showed too much oak and seemed a tad green, but with aeration great balance and very nice length, worked well with the prime rib!!

Lovely mature Merlot, structured still, a tad of drying tannin on finish detracts just a tad.

1986 vintage. From Jay. The bottle was decanted about one hour before being poured. Crimson/purple in colour. Very slight bricking on the edge. Some taint but luckily this blew off while the wine was breathing in the decanter. Cedar and cassis on the nose along with some dung. Hints of violets and eucalyptus. Tannins have become very soft and polished. Lovely freshness of fruits. Good viscosity. Coats the mouth with a certain exuberance. This is a wine that has matured with both grace and elegance. Finish is long, profound and classy. A lovely lady that is ageing with charm. One hour in the decanter, however, was too long - 30 mins next time. 94/100. Will last a little longer but I see no compelling reason to wait. Drink now until 2025.

Light ruby to faded burnt orange at the rim. Cedar, rust, iron, old leather. Dry, mellow fruit and earth.
