The 2019 Barbera d'Asti Tre Vigne is one of the hidden gems in Vietti’s stellar range. Crushed rocks, lavender, rose petal, mint, gravel and inky dark fruit all run through a racy, beautifully layered Barbera that will drink well right out of the gate. $20.00 (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, December 2021)

A bit of an upgrade over the grocery store Bordeaux Blanc from yesterday. This is fine and even fine wine, but not as compelling as I remember this bottle from 15+ years ago.
Medium plus Ruby. Pomegranate, pit inflected tart red cherry. Distinctly bittersweet with impactful fruit entry that turns more bitter/savory on the palate. Finishes firmly dry with very fine tannins.

I’m usually a cab or Malbec drinker, so this is a bit thinner and lighter than what I usually go for. Nice flavors, though, and enjoyable

Gone…drank enthusiastically. Ripe red fruit smooth palate balanced balanced medium+ bodied for this vintage. Enough said, previously rated. Decent value too…

Simple easy drinking. Fruity with dry finish. For 14.35 at Safeway, would get again.

Had to hit a quick redux of this after my glass ended up on wifey’s white silk shirt (sorry @Caroline Graham). It’s a solid pick.

Delicious Barbera, juicy and mildly acerbic, a gift from Canadian relatives

Good but not great…nor equal to some more full-bodied Barberas. Still…very drinkable well balanced perfect tannins medium-bodied red fruit to me nice wine. Likely drink again…think I’ve visited the winery…
