Even better with some age. 10 years in and 🔥. White pepper, grapefruit pith, and honeydew.

Does Gruner get any fresher? I don’t think so.

Maybe my dessert Island wine. So complete. Gives everything I could want. Elegance, complexity, expression of site plus intriguing GV varietal notes. Wow and WOW!

This producer has some fancier single vineyard bottlings but this got the job done—nice mix of citrus, stone fruit, camomile and herbal cilantro/watercress, transitioned well from aperitif to dinner

Really didn't like this. Dog shit on the nose (reductive or Brett?) that was persistent despite double decanting and vigorous aeration, lean and mean on the palate. I have to think there is a reason this has been rated highly by others; perhaps this was just far too young, but everyone in the group agreed that this was not a style of Grüner we enjoyed.
