Monnières-Saint Fiacre Muscadet Sèvre-et-Maine Sur Lie Melon de Bourgogne
2009. Great acid. A little rich, from the vintage, but wears it well. A pleasant surprise.

Dec 7th, 2016A great wine for sipping on its own or pairing with a variety of different foods. 46 months on the lees! The mouth feel is thick and the flavour is slightly Unami

Nov 24th, 2015Hot again and the whites are welcome. Muscadet always seems to remind me of the seaside, and I’m certainly hankering for freshly shucked oysters with this one. It has that distinctive grape skin aroma plus lees and melon, and then there’s the wash of dilute lemon juice with some salinity and minerality. Would definitely be better with fresh seafood.

Aug 8th, 2019I loved this on day 2. It needed the time. Incredible stony quality, like licking slate after a rain. Also an unctuous peachy richness sliced through by rippling acidity. Wonderful stuff. For like $21.
