Wow black fruit tight and big. Wild bright cherries nice acidity and mouthfeel. Rolling gripping tannins. Can benefit from a few more years in the bottle.

This one is a bit more generous with fruit and shows a slightly broader mid palate than the more northern cru. Still very nervy and tight with screeching acidity. Love the intensity, but wouldn’t dare open this for another 5 years.

A stellar bottle of Sangiovese. Elegant, with a dry finish

Classic profile of sour cherry and violet and a touch of spice.

2016 opened April 2024. The bouquet promised a complex and balanced wine, but it didn’t deliver. I detected, licorice, tobacco, and a flinty minerality on the nose. Sour red fruit on the front and a watery tannic structure made this wine a disappointment for me. lots of mineral high notes start on the mid palate and explode on the finish, but there’s nothing to balance them. This wine would pair well with spicy beef jerky, but not much else.

Powerful Brunello that should be consumed only with steak. Very intense red wine, ending with very strong (but not at all harsh) tannins. The tannins provided an intense leathery finish. This wine could age for years more. Not much fruit, but the palette would be perfect with steak or lamb, but not other foods.

Beautiful Brunello. All the classic notes. A little more fruit forward than our favourite Ugolforte but excellent structure and refined palate. Not much can compare with any Brunello at its finest!
