Bairrada Tinto Baga

Fully mature and a fine accompaniment to my chicken, linguica, and rice dish. Nose has earthy sandstone minerality, and dark, mature red berry fruit. Nice acids help keep it lively, though the finish is a little short. Pretty good value at $18.

A 2015 Baga that’s relatively approachable? Sign me up.

Zippy dark fruit and a well balanced medium body. Highly drinkable.

Surprinsingly not as charming as the reviews I read, a bit tight and short, maybe I was not in the mood.

Plum and cherries, strawberries

Dry, medium acidity but more than the xisto limitado, light to med tannins. If pinot noir is your jam, this is a great! Strawberry notes, some floral as well.

One of the best wines I’ve had here. Needed an hour to open up. Baga grape, very similar to Pinot noir. Excellent. 20 euros at the wine man.

Inoffensive but nothing to write home about

Cedar and nice nose, more mellow on the palate than another Baga, not as good on the palate as the smell.

Very full bodied and rich but also super smooth with a nice finish.
