Beautiful bouquet. Berries. Balanced tannins--slightly dry, not overpowering. Medium acidity. Smooth mouthfeel. Medium body. Very nice and highly drinkable alone.

Licorice and vanilla notes. Still firm tannins suggest another 5-10 years of aging.

Wow! Still tastes so young, like it could use a few more years in the bottle, but it is still a muscular and powerful wine with great structure and lots more potential.

1996 Preston Vyd. Cork disintegrated upon removal. Fruit still shows on nose. Red currant and dark cherry are noticeable on palate alongside vanilla, clove, and still present are above average tannin and acidity.

Drinking very well. Light in the body but classic "old Cab" nose and flavors.

Dark cherry and vanilla with hints of coffee. Big and deep with nice tannins. Paired perfectly with a tenderloin.

Special wine here. You can taste the age in all the right ways. Medium-full, earthier than your average cab. Just excellent.

V. Sattui Winery, 2013 from Preston Vineyard. Pretty much the perfect cab. However for the price Im not so sure. I really like their Paradiso blend better. But it is GOOD!!!!!! Minimal to no bouquet however. The dark berries on the beginning lead into a buttery and silky mid palate with chocolate and vanilla overtones. The finish is quick and dry. Its not as oaky as the Paradiso blend. Finish also has a slight sour pinch to the tongue after a minute or so. I probably wont buy this again. And I would not buy it in a restaurant ever, even if they carried it. Restaurant price would be well over 190 dollars Im sure. Too sour for this price. Maybe it needs 5 more years to age.
