Tyrrell's Wines
Hunter Valley Sémillon
Certified Ripper. The nerve and cut of this wine is remarkable. Very Old World sensibility. Bone dry at 11% ABV and daringly low pH. Racy, high-toned citrus pith aromas and laser-like focus on the entry. The “baby brother” to the Vat 1 Semillon, but it is walking and talking and showing a decidedly grown-up attitude.

Oct 25th, 2017Lovely peach on the nose, with apricot and lemon flavors. Smooth and delicate, and well balanced. Nice acidity

Dec 25th, 2019Rather bland. Perhaps just not drinking well now. Would try again.

Sep 18th, 2019Wow. Chablis-like nervy high energy right away. Elegant unshowy bouquet of smoked flint and lemony chamomile. The hook is a round richness from time spent on lees. That’s where the complexity lives.
