The Turkey wines made by teagen are among the best ever. Young example here but texturally brilliant and a joy to drink

One of of my favorite vineyards in CA and a gem in Turley’s portfolio. Spanning 1890s to 1900s plantation of some very unique varietals, this always has a signature to it that I don’t always find in field blends. Rich in body while always maintaining beautiful texture and liveliness. Aromatics are always unique and compelling in their own right. I used to think this would be best at 10-15 year mark but the more I try it I think this site drinks its best at the 3-5 year mark from vintage.

My favorite vineyard in St Helena, possibly Napa. Always love to taste these wines when I can, great history and special. This was just a great example of a wine that offers real character but is really about how fun and delicious it is to drink. Cons for me where the elevated alcohol perception on the nose and volatility that covered up a lot of the aromatic tones this wine had in previous bottles tasted. And I think the RS in the wine may have moved into a more disjointed position with the wines age. I think this would have been beautiful at the 5 year mark. That said, gorgeous palate, lush with its mix of red and black berry/cherry fruits, cool spices, peach pits and floral tones. Love the sweetness and structure the oak had at this point in its evolution. Needs BBQ!

RIP. Way past it’s prime... sadly.
My fault entirely... this one hid deep in the cellar.

I had some less impressive older Turley PS recently that convinced me that I needed to start consuming them, but this one has me thinking otherwise.

Too good.
So easy to drink....one of those "shhh....just sit back and enjoy" like my daughter reminds me to do.
