2018 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. A 100% Cabernet Sauvignon selection from different steep, southwest-facing hillside plots from the 400-acre Truchard Estate Vineyard. A beautiful restrained Cab featuring cassis, dark chocolate, cedar wood, graphite, and some smokiness. Very fresh, with layers of juicy black fruits, a tight backbone of ripe tannin, and a very long mineral finish. Abv. 14,2%. This should age beautifully for at least 15 years .Very reasonably priced for Napa standards at 125 USD. 168 cases produced.

This Truchard over-delivered on low expectations. Smokey and fully resolved, though past it’s prime it delivered Napa Cab essence and the class of an old CA gent.

Beautiful ruby red color right to the edge, leather notes, creamy vanilla oak, medium body, silky smooth long complex finish. Definitely exceeded my expectations as a pre Final Four wine at age 19!!!Bravo to the Truchards!
