Smells like a Slivovitz factory - sour, bitter plum. If you like it like I do, a good thing.
Light, bright, with some dark closure.
Light in body, bright with blackberry into dark with the bramble of twigs and Pinot branches.
Subtle acid rears this wine,
Hard to find NZ Pinot at the price. Sub 20. Yum.

On the palate, touch of saline, lean; black raspberries, raspberries, plum, black plum, dark cherries, cherries, light spice, clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, a of touch of brewed coffee, rich dark soils, fresh red florals with nice acidity & finish.

Color of light cranberry juice. Nose of fresh berry note, a bit spice, violet, and some rose pedal. Taste of similar fresh berry note, light with some substantial but soft acidity, silky, cranberry, a bit flowering or honey note, a bit vanilla, and indeed some noticeable tannings. Aftertaste of some more flowering note, a bit zest and bittersweet. Light yet enough flavors to raise her above average.

Others say it’s oaky... I get a little but not in an off-putting way. For the $, this is incredibly solid. Perfect for Thanksgiving or any white meat bird.
