Alsace Gewürztraminer

Another killer Wednesday Wine Committee lineup. As always, 1 sparkler, 3 whites, 4 reds and 1 dessert wine. All tasted blind.

I called this Alsatian Gewürztraminer. Loads of lychee & sweet lemon-lime. Low acidity but still had some spice on the finish that reminds me of the grape. Smells sweet, tastes mildly sweet.

Lemon and rose on the nose, with a beautifully balanced acidity and a honey rose nectar on the palate, and a medium finish. One of the best wines!

Drank with Hor-mok Talay from Lanna Thai. Good pairing. I’ve always liked gewurtz with Asian food. Fathers Day 2021.

Peach, honeysuckle, apricot, honey, orange rind, and petrol. Medium alcohol and medium plus acid. I love Alsace Gewurztraminers. This one could use a bit more acid and a bit less alcohol.

we're not usually fond of whites but we liked this one. it's sweet-smelling but is only mildly sweet. mapait pero masarap. also, malakas tama. moderate acidity (or at least we think so, thanks @boozyph wine primer). easy and v. enjoyable to drink. went well with the last slices of D's birthday tiramisu from @wildberry.mnl 🍰

Such a classic

Lychee, some waxy petrol. Spice. Lemon. Nice, but not worth $20.
