Bricco Mollea Dogliani Dolcetto

Pure pleasure occupying a similar station as gamay does to Pinot. This one does it right. Black cherry soda pop. Finishes dry and long.

Good red fruit and lots of potpourri, even after 3 days open. Still good tannic structure.

Black cherry and blackberry, good acidity, bitter tannin. Better day 2

Better with every taste, really opened up.

Paired with mushroom risotto

Slightly sweet and juicy blackberry and blueberry notes on the nose, one of the best bouquets I've smelled in recent memory, reminds me of a delicious berry tart. After that it was a little underwhelming, a bit hot, the berries were subtle, and the classic Dolcetto bitter almond finish was a little too prominent. I also didn't get any almond, just a vague bitter tannic finish. Acidity was perfect though, gave it great freshness. I remember really enjoying it on day 1, but on day 2 when I wrote notes it seems not so much, maybe I was just having an off day.

Now that's a quality Dolcetto. Medium bodied, fruit forward, but nicely balanced due to the acidity. Could be a little länger if you wanna be nitpicky.

Killer Dolcetto. Solid value. Tuesday night wine all week long!

Excellent. Light, well rounded, bright, full berry. Great showing out of the heart of La Morra.

Too much weight in relation to the structure, too much upfront acidity, too much of the aroma is concentrated in the middle.
