Pretty dark color for Pinot. Very fresh nose, strawberry hard candy, red cherry, bubble gum, rose pedal, with some sweet spices, hint of mint. Medium bodied, medium+ acidity, such a smooth mouthfeel filled with fresh red fruits. 35%-40% whole bunches. Slightly green on the finish. I am surprised by this one! Heavenly good. Light as a feather and elegant as a beautiful young lady. 14% alc. 2014 vintage

Wandered into this off the beaten path wine bar this evening, night #2 in beautiful Kyoto, Japan. This is a lovely New Zealand single vineyard Pinot, elegant and graceful. The nose is a knockout, followed by blackberries and earth tracking through to a beaut of a finish. I love my Sonoma Pinots but they’re a little tough to find here. Maybe that’s not such a bad thing. Cheers from afar! 🍷

2nd round, with Chinese food. Good but not as smoothly integrated as before.

This was ridiculously good. Had it with our Chinese New Year dinner of chicken, duck, seafood, etc and it went well with everything. Full bodied, well integrated, just really rich and wonderful. Might be the best NZ wine I've ever had.
