As you can see from the photos, Tokara is a beautiful place to visit and Karl their General Manager was an amazing host.

The nose reveals, lime, lemon, tropicals, green melon, pineapple, honey notes, nicely soft granite soils, powdery chalkiness, saline, yellow lilies and spring flowers.

The body is full, thick creamy, splendid & a touch waxy. Lime, lemon, tropicals, green melon, pineapple, honey notes, nicely soft granite soils, powdery chalkiness, saline, yellow lilies and spring flowers. The acidity beautiful. Rich, well balanced amazingly delicate finish.

Photos of, a pano view from the hillside top of their vineyards, Tokara entrance, a metal statue from a well known South African Artist and their sloping hillside vines.

Missing South Africa already and as a possible venue this is a perfect bottle to try. Light greenish yellow. Refreshing nose with lemon grass, a touch vegetal, tropical fruits and a little minerality. Medium acidity (5.5/10) with a light plus body. Crisp and mouthwatering salinity on the palate with notes of citrus zest, green apples and minerality. Medium plus finish. Drink till 2021.

Very citrusy example of Sauvignon Blanc. The grapefruit and vegetal notes were tame and the acidity was substantial. Clean crisp finish.
