This is the 2019 Tiberio Montepulciano D'Abruzzo. 100% Montepulciano.

On the nose I am finding cherry, red plum, cranberry, violets, oregano, herbs and tar.

On the palate is cherry, cranberry, raspberry, boysenberry, spice, crushed stone and minerality.

This wine is medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel medium + acidityand medium + firm chalky tannins leading to a long red & black fruit crushed gravel finish. I hope everyone's weekend has started off positive. Please stay healthy and safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

The dreamy 2020 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo seduces with a classic bouquet of crushed rocks, violets, lavender, hints of blood orange and nuanced strawberry fruits. It envelopes the palate with textural, ripe wild berries that give way to a caking of minerality that creates a crunchy feel toward the close. Elegant to the very end, the 2020 finishes lightly structured with concentration, yet also dazzling floral perfumes that linger impossibly long. This is simply stunning and a perfectly complete Montepulciano. (Eric Guido, Vinous, October 2022)

Silky purple. Fruity but also savory and earthy. Great energy, sweet cherry fruit coming to the fore with time. Deft sweetness; but firm tannins and some bitterness on the finish make this hard at the moment.

Montepulciano with concentration & some density. Not your grandmother’s…… or maybe it is….

Crushed black cherries, blueberry skins, sage, stone dust and hints of animal musk, all come together to form a deeply satisfying bouquet on the 2017 Tiberio Montepulciano. On the palate, soft, round textures give way to a twang of tart wild berry fruits, complemented by saline-minerals and then firmed up with grippy tannins. The finish is long and structured, yet still packed with spicy primary fruits and remaining fresh through residual acids. I know Cristiana isn’t a big fan of her warmer vintage wines, but the 2017 has the stuffing to improve in our cellars while still pleasing today.

Sappy, fresh, luscious fruit like a four-berry pie with silky tannins to balance.

It's the 2015, and it's irresistible. The nose was a dark and woodsy with a display of crushed raspberry, currants, roasted pecan, crushed stone and undergrowth. On the palate, I found silky textures matched by mineral-laden cherry with a twist of orange citrus, minerals and a hint a tannin. The finish was medium-long as the fruit gained a tart twang, with hints of savory herbs and a touch of exotic spice. Compared to the classic and cool 2014, the 2015 presents a happy middle ground of ripeness and structure. I'm loving it!

The 2020 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo seduces with a bouquet of crushed rocks, violets, lavender, blood orange and strawberry fruits. It envelops the palate with textural, ripe wild berries, fine minerality and a crunchiness towards the close. A stunning and a wonderfully complete Montepulciano. $20.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, September 2022)

2012 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo in the garden. Birdsong. Crisp, juicy red fruits and dusty gray stones.
