This is the Pascale Matrot not the Pierre Matrot Charmes Meursault. I have previous notes here on both Cuvées. A strange charcoal note initially which wasn’t there on the 2nd day. Pale to mid yellow in colour Flint and citrus with yellow orchard fruits developing. River stones. Very mineral together with pear on the medium weight palate. An excellent Premier Cru Meursault from a great vintage for White Burgundy.

See previous note in October 2021. Still quite mineral and citrus. Good value for a Premier Cru from Meursault. Delectable this is Pierre Matrot not Pascale Matrot. A big difference in price.

Dusty and musty on the nose to begin with - some reduction initially - a sulphur note. The palate is crisp and clean showing more citrus than stone fruit. Very mineral - gravel notes. Next day lime and lemon juice. From a very good vintage for white burgundy.

Delectable - this is a Meursault Charmes made by Pierre Matrot not Dom Thierry et Pascale Matrot. The latter has a different label and is more expensive. This wine was great value and had everything you would want in a good Chardonnay. I made notes then misplaced them!! Barb and I loved this wine - peach, minerality, intensity of flavour - proving again how good 2014 was for white burgundy.

Good balance between wood and fruit
Quite elegant and minerally
Not very long though and a bit warm
Expectations were higher than this

Looking forward to seeing how this develops with
bottle age. Flint, citrus nose, great texture and length on the finish. Opened and became more expressive over a few hours. Should have decanted....

Lemon-lime, flint, minerality, ripping acidity, med body, still feels raw. Hands off my other bottle for several years
