Saldo Red Blend

Actually a blend of Petite Sirah, Syrah, Cab and Zin. This wine is extremely dark with notes on the nose of black cherry, anise, smoke and spice. The palate is rich and dark. Blackberry, licorice, allspice, cinnamon and black pepper. The finish is not too long, but it is full of sweet oak spice while it's there. The tannins are a bit toothy until it has been poured for a while.

Full body with a lovely taste of berries! Good wine to cuddle up with a book or movie, and great to share with a friend. It’s a good “vibing” wine.

Definitely needs some time to loosen up. I look forward to watching it develop.

Easy drinking - would like to compare it to the Zinfandel

Finally! Expansion of the great, Saldo brand! Shit, I’d give this a 9.2 just for the new, pretty, blue label! This is everything you’d expect - masses of big, ripe, fruits-forward tastes w/ a lengthy finish. The petit Syrah seems to be most prominent in the blend w/ notes of eucalyptus & blueberry in the finish. Damn fine. Happy Xmas eve!
