Headlock Charbono Blend

My first Charbono. On the nose there are ripe plum, stewed blackberry, and blueberry jam that is reminiscent of Petite Sirah - the bottle is a blend of Charbono from Calistoga, Petite Sirah from Lake County, and Syrah from Oak Knoll. In typical Prisoner wine fashion, the palate is lush and flamboyant, with flavors of rich dark fruits, dark chocolate, sweet spices, and smoke. Fresh high tone acidity balances the richness really well.
Very good experience. Will sit on the remaining bottle for couple years.

Black plum, blueberry, vanilla

Fruit forward, plump fruit. Decent.

This blend is more than a full mouthful. Perfect to complement heavy food.

Great blend! Comes off as a heavy Italian wine but is very easy on the pallet. Lots of fruit.

Fantastic wine. We had a sausage pasta and it paired great. Didn’t need to be decanted at all. Well worth the price!!
