This golden wine smells of tropical fruit like mango and pineapple, with apple and sweet oak thrown on top. The palate shows that oak, but in an even-handed way. It works. The mouth is full, and the acidity is zippy.

This is a decent but not excellent Chardonnay- nice Washington-style Apple flavors but still a little too much butter - although the malolactic flavors are very restrained by California standards. It stood up well to Jamaican style red beans and rice.

2013 vintage; can't complain about the $12 price. Actually not much to complain about, or to get excited about. Light on aromas and taste, just pleasant. Could enjoy a bottle with a view overlooking the bay. Oh, that's what we're doing.

Whatever happened to Hess?!? It just seems to have disappeared from the shelves in the last 3 years. Still better than all them KJs, Edna's, Clos' and many others. $12 / 89pts

Lighter body than I expected. Excellent price point. Will drink again. I mean I will always drink wine again but I will drink this particular wine again.

Very fruity. White peach and citrus with some floral hints. Pretty basic chard but not the worst I've had.
