Vintage 2010 | I can appreciate this Aglianico more now, than one year ago. Smell of ripe summerfruit, cedar, tertiary tones that makes me smile. Good balance. Nice acidity. Fine structure. Taurasi is interesting. Paired with wild boar ravioli.

Vintage 2010 | from Aglianico grapes. Lots of character, complex but stubborn as well. Barnyard smell, liquorice and steamed red summerfruit. Tannins. It is an interesting wine, for sure, and gains some friendliness with aeration. But it does not get me. Aged in old wood, I guess. | Paired with rib eye on day 1 and an onionpie on day 2.

Mo and I ordered this from a local restaurant (actually, I chose this based on Delectable notes from AG).
I can’t recall if his notes were from the same vintage that we had, but the bottom line - this was awful. So bad (not defective), I sent it back and chose something else. Thinking about the experience causes me to have an allergic reaction. Just be warned...

Black cherry & black tea with a hint of tobacco. Tannins still have years to resolve. Young and fresh at 10 years.

Rustic animal and leather notes are the star here, overripe red fruit and vinous. Makes me want a steak and a cowboy hat.

Classic Anglianico - holy freaking tannins - I'm gonna wait 10-15 years from now on for this region

From a clutch of several 2004s - 2007s that snagged several years ago, and frankly I forgot about 2 of the 07s. This was the best bottle of the whole lot thus far, though most were great. Beautifully integrated tannins and acidity. Red fruit and flowers, spice, resin and rocks.
