Pale lemon color with aromas of stone and tropical fruits and floral notes. On the palate flavors of apple, pear and melon, citrus and honey notes with lively acidity. Medium acidity, medium finish ending with fruit and floral mineral character. ‘20 is slightly better!

Thyme, lemon peel with great length. A “sapid” wine according to the back label. Tasty enough, good acidity, fruity. Pair with appetizers, dairy, fish, and someone else’s risotto rec sounds good, now I’ve tasted this

Ripe af but somehow refreshing to balance the fruit. Fun. Goes with risotto (explanation in next week’s article)

Tasted blind & thought a muscadet on lees or a Loire Sauvignon blanc blend. Just absolutely riveting when you consider the retail under 15$-this producer churns out a whole line of great QPRs, like their Aglianico. This has tang, definition, & soul, especially for a varietal I’m not an Uber fan of.

This bright straw-yellow wine from Campania’s Irpinia district is laced with expressive notes of menthol, ripe apple, botanical herbs and flowers. Rich and dense with a multilayered feel, the 2017 is tactile, complex and absolutely delicious. $18.00 (Ian D'Agata, Vinous, November 2018)

Thursday evening and tonight I have opened the 2017 Terredora Di Paolo Corte di Giso Irpinia Falanghina from the Campania Region of Italy North of Naples.

On the nose there is notes of green apple, banana, white flowers and a touch of herbaceous notes.

The palate shows notes of green apple, pear, stone fruit, wet river rock, a hint of herbs and good minerality.

The wine color is light straw yellow and medium in body, well balanced with medium + to high acidity that leads to a pleasing long crisp fresh fruit finish. This is a nice summer drinker at a great QPR. Enjoy your start of the weekend and let's stay safe out there. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Bought this because of all the rave reviews. But was really disappointed. Lack luster nose and a bland muted taste. Buttery texture and a bitter finish. Is this the same wine everyone else had? It is 2021 and not the 2020 or 2019 vintage but can it be so different? 10.99 at WH. Got 2 so hopefully the 2nd bottle is better.

Reona was very disappointed with this. Not her type of Falanghina. Worked ok with food though.

Tart lemon balanced with a pithy backbone. Floral notes. CHF 9.95 in the supermarket — quite a deal.
