I rate this 86 but in the context of opening price wines it is hard not to buy this wine. It has all the traits that make Nebbiolo great and while eating against wines of like price point it is outstanding.

one of the brighter barbs I've had. softens up as it breathes though. heavy tannins, light funk. classic almost port colour, dirty in a good way. I've had better but a barb is a barb.

Needs to breathe, heavy on the tannins. Quite enjoyable after breathing a bit.

2015 vintage. Nice. A little less dry and peppery than my ideal, but good

Medium ruby/garnet color with a brick rim. Aromas of black berry/cherry with hints of forest floor and a touch of mint. The pallet is dominated by sour raspberry and cherry with notes of fresh herbs and baking spices. Wine is a bit out of balance as the tannins overwhelm the acidity a bit. I preferred the 2012 vintage of this wine. Thank You Ron B! Revisited in October 2024. Still fresh.

lovely entry level barbaresco.

no fireworks but still a pleasure to drink.

medium body.
medium + tannins
expected high acidity

sour red 🍒, earth, dust, smoke, coffee and cacao and hinted orange peel.

medium 🎯

worked great with fried pedron peppers, smoked chicken fillet and smoked denver steak.
best pairing was with grilled lamb sweetbread.

i need more nebbiolo in my life.

Very good entry level Barbaresco. Traditional style. Definitely worth a try at the $18 price point.

Aromas of dark berries and Smokey herbs. Dark red berry fruit flavors with notes of baking spices and hints of tobacco and rose petals. Soft tannins. Refined and elegant. Nice! Revisited this wine in October 2020. Still terrific! Revisited again in January 2021. Smokey anise and Rose Petal aromas more prevalent in this bottle. Finish is a bit shorter than I remember but still quite good.
