Surprise surprise surprise! Finger Lakes Gamay. Consider this skeptic a believer. Not quite approaching a Morgon in complexity but this wine can stand on it's own. Great effort.

Basically a rose; it’s fine thirst quenching summer stuff. Wouldn’t have known it’s Finger Lakes, which is a compliment.

Very interesting finger lakes gamay made from 20 year old Beaujolais cuttings by the wine director of the nomad. Barely a red wine in terms of color - a quite pretty very pale translucent red. Light strawberry on the nose. Quite restrained but quite good. Finish is perhaps slightly thin but overall this is both interesting and enjoyable.

Bill is wearing a Michaelangelo apron (peen and everything) and this wine is perfect. Crazy light body but a hint of bonfire.

Great minerality, cranberry tartness, slate, a little bit of that cool climate mossiness. But the oak kind of kills it. Why why why

Always fun to down some of my brother’s wine. This is a great example of Gamay, and all from NY!!

Limited Gamay planting’s in the FLX, however, I’d expect to see that increase based on the success of this! Absolutely gorgeous pale purple hue. Tart red cherry and slight spice on the nose. Bright, red raspberry is instantaneously noticeable. Lip smacking, well balanced acidity, well balanced tannins, with a little longer finish than Cru Beaujolais. I believe this could be a game changer for what Gamay will produce in the future for the FLX. Bought a second bottle to lay down for a year or two!

What a surprise! Beautiful pale red. Nose of strawberry and spice. Definitely cold climate, but surprisingly fruit forward with balanced acidity. Everyone is probably not going to like this, but I found it quite elegant. A nice contrast to heavier West Coast domestic gamay.
