Thinking about Albariños; and my recent visit to this region in Spain 🇪🇸 The Galician climate receives moisture from the Atlantic and is mostly sticky, warm and rainy with rain ☔️ most days during the year. Winters are a bit harsh and cold. The humid, salt air is what this viticultural environment is all about. The mostly white wines made here are highly acidic, with notes of tart, green apple 🍏 and white flowers. This particular wine was enjoyed with a dish of Tile fish at Chef Norman Van Aken’s 1921 Restaurant in Mt Dora, FL. This wine was beautifully complex, round, dry but not overtly so. It was a delicate balance of fruit and earthiness. Sophisticated and elegant. I will look for this one again.

Orchard and tropical fruits, pineapple, mango, peach, faint white flowers, desiccated and oxidative. Apple and pear sauce, citrus and minerals: granite or limestone. Vegetal on the palate. Medium plus to elevated acidity. Pale straw.

High quality. Each vintage of this wine I ever sampled was focused and excellent.

Good and different, but I prefer a straight Albariño. Somewhat unbalanced in flavor, although it got better after breathing. I wish I knew it needed to breathe. Opens with a peach flavor, but quickly changes to lemon, which is an odd mix. Nose is perfect, with a white-fruit aroma.
