Had another bottle tucked away in the cellar. A blend of 70% Sangiovese & 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged for 12 months in French and American oak. Very dark ruby color with sweet dark fruit on the nose. The Wine was still tight and needed 30 minutes to open. The palate shows rich very ripe cherry and raspberry flavors, gentle spice and toasty oak, well-structured tannins on the lingering finish. A great Chianti Classico!

Jul 4th, 2016Day one and minimal aeration I got a bit of balsamic on the nose and pallet. It seemed like peak may have passed. Still quite drinkable. Day 3 aeration (using the suction preserver) and the flavor is leaps and bounds better. Nose of earth and red berries, maybe even raspberry. Pallet is smooth (no tart or bitter flavor), more earth, silky tannins and more red berries. Not a thick Cab beast, but pretty, floral, and impressed with the turnaround.
