Elegant and earthy. Drinking perfectly now, and needed only a short time to completely open up. Start out with dark cherry flavors, and ends in earth and tar. Sangiovese, but quite different from Chianti and Brunello in style. An excellent if somewhat pricey $75 purchase.

Last stop on the Sette Ponti Express. This is a new wine for Moretti and I don't expect much will reach the States (only 300 cases made). 100% Sangio, produced in Chianti-neighboring Valdarno. Purity and elegance, high-toned red berries, Italian leather, dried meadow flowers. Perfect combo to a local Florentine steak.

80+ year old Sangiovese vines on original rootstocks. Very concentrated, bursting with red fruit and bright acidity. Great juice.
