The estate of Sette Ponti lies in the heart of the Chianti zone, 15 miles NW of the city of Arezzo past village of San Giustino Valdarno. A blend of 90% Sangiovese & 10% Merlot, aged in French Allier barriques. Deep Ruby with red fruit aromas and blossom spice. On the palate blackberry and cherry flavors, earthy spice and grainy tannins. Good balance lingering finish ending with some oak, earthy and mineral tones.

Ripe red cherry (little bit cherry jam like), raspberry, plum, cinnamon, hint of creamy cotton candy on the nose. Very dry on the palate, with black tea and sweet spices. Solid. 13.5% alc. 2014 vintage

Take your time. A sweet nutty flavor upon openning. 30 min. Later a nice medium body developed. Very even flavored start to finish. A pleasant bottle.

Jan 30th, 2022Light tannins up front. Leaving a bite in the front of the mouth as you swallow. Sangiovese comes strongly through, with a softening aftertaste. Blend seems to be missing something for the finish.

Apr 12th, 2020Dark ruby with light purple accents in the glass. Big, rich nose of vanilla, plums, bright cherries, and a touch of oak peeking out. The good thing about drinking these so young is that the fruit is so bright and fun. Such nice acidity running throughout, even though this vintage is a little thinner than previous ones at this moment. Plenty of ripe red fruit and herbs on the palate with more oak, old leather, and cloves. If you have any of these sitting around, leave it alone for a few more years. Or do like me and open it now.

Good aroma with black currant flavor. But maybe still young. Still have lots of acid and a bit strong tanning. Considering taste of 2006 vintage, it should have high potential. So need to wait for more years. @949, Eva, 180310
