Lingers well. Plays it's part. Won't blow you away... very far... but it'll huff and puff a bit. I love this grape.

Very good effort for the vintage. Wins the award for most sediment I have ever seen in a bottle, which is no small achievement.

2005 a touch prunish, maybe I drank it too young (read probably) enjoyable but I think I got impatient this time.

Great value. Drinking well and would probably improve in 5 years or so.

Pale-medium, ruby-garnet color.
Aromas of red cherry, cinnamon, rose, strawberry.
Dry. Flavors of raspberry, cinnamon, floral, strawberry, anise. Rich, firm tannins. Not typical, but delicious.

After about an hour of breathing, this wine was much more subdued than I was led to believe.

Deceptively simple at first but really opens up in the mouth and when paired with a strong cheese.

Looked like a good deal on WTSO so bought a few bottles. Opened one today. Garnet red color, dark cherry and leathery nose, very tight on opening with intense leathery tannins, at 90 minutes more balanced with emerging dark cherry as the tannins reduced, seemed to be much more balanced at 3 hours with soft earthiness/minerals emerging as tannins softened and lingered. May cellar the rest a bit but very happy with the quality/value.

It’s a good wine. But it lacks something. Better Barolo’s for the price.

Rocca’s basic Barolo - perfectly aged. So good with a massive and funky cheese plate.
