Rosso di Montalcino Sangiovese

Vintage 2013 elegant and excellent balance

Bright, tart fruit, hints of vanilla

Orangey red rim. Young fresh aromas. Some rusticity. On the light side

2008 Vintage. Great wine but I found the Rosso Banfi better on this vintage... and at a fraction of the cost. This one was just a bit light for my tastes.

Needed several hours of decanting to open up. Fabulous bouquet. Cassis, red cherry, licorice, and blackberries. Full-bodied. I might cellar this a bit longer.

Complex, savoury with subtle power, a lovely wine.

Great wine. Really is Montalcino’s version of a white wine. Layers of fruit with tight tannic edges. A rose to put to rest. Look forward to enjoying more in a year or so. RIP Franco Biondi-Santi

Must first trip into the 2010 vintage. A real treat for the price when I bought it in Italy.

Very enjoyable traditional rosso.
